Herb will forever be remembered for his patience and passion for dogs, whether show breed or the family pet.  It all started out with a bob tailed fox terrier named Bobby.  The dog was so loved, when Herb married, he insisted they name their son Bobby! AND it was just the beginning......

From terrier to cocker spaniel to PUGS, life was exciting.  Herb’s first experience with pugs came in 191 when he paid $50 for Ching who got himself run over as he dashed across the street chasing a cat....no wonder cats were never the pet of choice!  Missy came next, along with the friendship and mentoring of the Shelton’s.  The Shelton’s belonged to the San Antonio Kennel Club and were instrumental in Herb and Wilma joining in 1954.  This was the beginning of 50+ years of dogs, travel and friends.

Herb always sought to breed and show his own product, he wanted to experience the whole picture, and he did so except for his California friend Surfer!

Herb was instrumental in the development of the Alamo City Cluster and a delegate to the AKC.  He served in the SAKC in various positions from President to Treasurer to Show Chairman, but his longest term was experienced as Treasurer, always wanting to increase the financial status of SAKC so that his passion could be shared with all dog lovers!!!

Herb will forever be remembered for his compassion for everyone he ever
